So he wants to ensure that Jeeva is happily married and her husband is chosen with her consent. Also, Ranjith says that he does not want to marry any one and instead he prefers to stay single along with all the family members. Realising the love of Jeeva and Thamizh, the family members then decide to have them marry. The movie ends with Tamizh and Jeeva uniting.
The film received critical acclaim from critics. Malathi Rangarajan from The Hindu praised as "Inundated with talent from every quarter" and said: "has to be welcomed, with open arms because decent, meaningful cinema deserves encouragement".[3] Rediff.com particularly heaped praises at Cheran for his screenplay and said "With directors of the calibre of Cheran in its rank, Tamil cinema would not be discredited or degenerated".[4]Thiraipadam.com lauded Cheran saying "Cheran is one of the few filmmakers who has not succumbed to the commercial bug and continues to make movies that satisfy his own creative spirit and also convey a valid message to society."[5]
The film also received mixed reviews. Sify.com criticised the length of the movie and said: "Cheran has churned out yet another village based sob story to torment you further" and concluded that "it is a typical overdose of Cheran melodrama masala".[6][7]
Swapnabhoomi is a 1967 Indian Malayalam film, directed by S. R. Puttanna and produced by Rangarajan. The film stars Prem Nazir, Sathyan, Sheela and Kaviyoor Ponnamma in the lead roles. The film had musical score by G. Devarajan.[1][2][3] The film is a remake of director's own Kannada movie Belli Moda released in the same year.
The movie recounts an incident that took place in Thillenkeri in Kannur district in 1948 April 15. The Communist party was struggling against the rule of Jawaharlal Nehru at that period. In Thillenkeri, comrade Ananthan Master was the leader of the Communist party.
Mohan Lal and Allu Sirish starrer, Yuddha Bhoomi has hit the big screens today. The patriotic drama garnered decent expectations prior to the release, thanks to an intriguing trailer that promised an intense Indo-Pak war. Scroll down to see whether the movie matched the expectations laid on it.
During the war, Vasudevan finds a key officer in the form of Chinmaya(Allu Sirish) but an unforeseen incident brings a massive twist in the tale. Can the Indian army defeat a stubborn Pakistan army unit? What are the troubles they face in the process? Watch the movie in theaters to know the answers.
Mohan Lal is at his usual best while portraying intense emotions and his maturity in complex episodes is a major advantage to the movie. He is seen in a dual role in the movie and he managed to show good variations from one role to another.
On the whole, Yuddha Bhoomi is an undercooked patriotic drama that has a strong message but falls behind with its uninteresting narration. The movie has decent emotional content and strong characters. However, the lackluster screenplay damages the flow of the movie as a few crucial episodes in the second half have not been handled well. Finally, Yuddha Bhoomi ends up as a below-par watch and see minimal limelight this weekend.
This is one movie that delivers what it promises. On the road through and through, the film is a visual treat, with riveting music and minimalist dialogue. Kasi begins his journey from Kozhikode to the North-East, first to get over, and then to find his love Assi (Surja Bala). He is joined by his friend Suni and their camaraderie is beautifully depicted, not through tall claims of friendship, but knowing glances and friendly pats. The motorcycle, signboards, milestones and traffic signs too take on a character of their own in the movie.
But given the youthful exuberance of the movie and its ability take you along on the ride, these cannot be listed as hurdles. Like you must hit the road to feel the real adrenaline rush, you must hit the theatres to truly experience this riveting ride. Bon voyage!
Bhumi Pednekar and Ayushmann Khurrana are back again on the big screen but this time it's different. After their praiseworthy performances in their first film together - Dum Laga Ke Haisha, the duo were seen again in the romantic comedy Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, and created magic yet again. This time though Bhumi was seen in a completely new avatar. She lost all the extra pounds that she gained for her role of a plump Sandhya in the 2015 movie Dum Laga Ke Haisha and impressed her fans with her new lean avatar. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the couple to recreate the magic of love just like they did in their previous appearance together. Like her previous movies, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan also has a message to share and deals with the touchy subject of erectile dysfunction in men and how it affects the life of a couple about to get married.Only two movies old, actress Bhumi Pednekar has been praised a lot for her acting skills. She won all the debut awards for her role in Dum Laga Ke Haisha and now she has won our hearts with her inspiring weight-loss journey. At a tender age of 18, Bhumi shocked her family with not just her decision of entering the world of movies but also the choice of an unconventional debut. While girls her age were cautious about how they look, Bhumi (who was selected after a series of auditions) was asked to put on about 20-25 kilos for the role. She gorged on high calorie foods like butter chicken, dal makhani, pizzas, Mughlai dishes, sweets and paranthas, day in and day out, and weighed about 86 kilos by the time the movie went on floors.
An actress who can be described as a vault of talent, Bhumi Pednekar is one of the very few Bollywood lead who can and have experimented with a very wide range of characters since her debut in 2015. The trailer of her latest movie Durgamati has already gained attention from film fanatics applauding Pednekar for stepping into the genre of horror too.
This Anurag Kashyap film features Taapsee Pannu along with Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles. This movie does not follow the typical Bollywood storyline of a hero and his adventures. Still, Saand Ki Ankh rose to its fame due to the endearing performances of the lead actresses, Pannu and Pednekar. Their performances won them the Critics Award for Best Actress at the 2020 Filmfare Awards.
Bhumi Pednekar plays the role of Chandro Tomar, and Taapsee Pannu plays Prakashi Tomar in this film based on the lives of the sharpshooter Tomar sisters-in-law. The actresses had to transform themselves to portray different age groups of the sisters in this movie. Claimed as one of the best roles of Padnekar, Chandro Tomar bought the immaculate actress in her onto the screen.
Not many will dare to debut in Bollywood as an overweight girl like Pednekar in Dum Laga Ke Haisha. But her first step towards her successful career was Sandhya in this movie. The movie released in 2015 follows the story of an introverted husband, played by Ayushmann Khurrana, and his overweight wife.
Though this was only her second movie, her acting in this film was astounding and gained a lot of praise. She stood shoulder to shoulder with Akshay Kumar with her performance throughout the movie with her powerful empowered role of Jaya.
Though this movie is centred around the struggles of Bala, who suffers from pre-mature baldness, it also focuses on the issue of discrimination based on the colour of skin. Latika, the character played by Pednekar in Bala has dark-coloured skin. As the story proceeds, we get to see her fighting against social norms to prove that she is not ashamed of her skin and nor should any person be discriminated against on the same lines
One of the most eagerly awaited movies of the year is Govinda Naam Mera, starring Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Kiara Advani. Just two days ago, the movie's producers revealed that the movie will debut on Disney+ Hotstar. The film was originally scheduled for theatrical release on June 10, 2022, but the producers decided against it and instead chose to publish it only on OTT. Vicky Kaushal has now formally revealed the film's new release date along with brand-new posters of himself, Bhumi, and Kiara.
In the movie, Bhumi and Rajkummar play a lesbian sports instructor and a gay police officer respectively, and to find acceptance (and a semblance of happiness) in the society, they choose to live with the fake identity of a husband and wife.
To give the movie the benefit of the doubt, we can say that it is a personal character choice. It can offer us, if done properly, a gorgeous look into the life and thought processes of a suppressed and complicated character. 2b1af7f3a8
