The issue appears to be when the game loads, the player always drops into first-person view. You cannot change this at all. The only way to change the camera view during the game is to restart it. Press escape on your keyboard to drop to the menu where you can select to start the game in third-person view or first-person view.

To my knowledge, the above-mentioned implementation is the only one that has ever worked without game breaking or game breaking-esque visual artifacts. It was created using an original game-breaking fix from the modding community. It is also much more than a "quick'n'dirty" fix.

In addition, in development the game was always intended to be in first-person view. Had the development been intended to be in third-person, it's quite possible the program would have reverted to third-person mode by default.

Yup, I think this represents the same problem. There are issues with the game when loading/saving in the third person view. If you know someone who has already fixed it, then I would love to know what they did. d2c66b5586
